Despite Tent Fire, Imvepi Team Perseveres
On April 26, while members of ChildVoice’s Imvepi Refugee Settlement team were visiting the Lukome Center for a staff training, fire tore through several of the team’s residential tents at Imvepi. There were no injuries, but there was significant damage. Undeterred, team members resolved to commute from Arua in order to minimize disruption to our ongoing services.
Life lessons at Imvepi
At a local school in Imvepi Refugee Settlement, northern Uganda, ChildVoice recently hosted a training session to help adolescent girls understand how to track their own menstrual cycles using a simple bracelet. Adolescent boys, some of whom are in charge of child-headed households, had an opportunity to talk about their own issues and concerns.
