Nari Wuniya Welye
As ChildVoice’s Country Director for Nigeria, Nari offers a wealth of knowledge from her experience as a lawyer rendering pro bono services to prison inmates and indigent persons in the city of Maiduguri, where she graduated in 2011 with a law degree from the University of Maiduguri. She won a prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders in 2016 and has worked tirelessly for human-rights awareness and victims of gender-based violence. From Nigeria’s Adamawa State, Nari will spearhead the work ChildVoice is doing in the IDP (Internally Displaced Persons) camps of northeastern Nigeria, where victims of the Boko Haram have sought refuge. Outside of her work, Nari enjoys reading, church time, and hanging out with friends.
